 One of the most important features to consider when installing playground equipment is the surfacing. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), over 200,000 children receive emergency room care for playground equipment-related injuries each year. The majority of these injuries result from falls to the ground surface below the equipment rather than falls from one part of the equipment to another. While surfacing options are endless, rubber mulch has superior shock absorbing properties according to the CPSC (Handbook for Public Playground Safety). But not all rubber mulch is the same. US Rubber’s Ground Cush’n™ is ABSOLUTELY 100% metal free, because it is made from recycled INNER TUBES. Most rubber mulch products are made from recycled waste tires, which inherently contain wire. Imbedded tire wire is very difficult to completely remove and can pose safety issues. But NOT with Ground Cush’n™. |

• Ground Cush'n™ has a bulk density weight of 30 pounds per cubic foot.
• One cubic foot of Ground Cush'n™ (30 pounds) will give 2 square feet of playground coverage area if applied at a 6 inch recommened depth.
• As an example for a 10 foot by 20 foot playground area – 200 square feet of surface area at 15 pounds per square foot would equal 3,000 pounds of Ground Cush'n™
• Ground Cush'n™ is packaged in 1,000 and 2,000 pound bags for bulk delivery or is available in 30 and 40 pound plastic bags - colors include Redwood, Mocha Brown, Kelly Green, Tan, Blue and Black.
• Typical cost of Ground Cush'n™ will be approximately 1/2 the cost of poured in place surfacing (with better fall protection) and 4 times the cost of wood mulch (which requires annual replacement).

Installation
Delivery
Ground Cush'n™ Premium Rubber Surfacing can be delivered in 1,700 to 2,000 pound supersacks. Supersacks may be transferred to the play area by bobcat or wheelbarrow. Ground Cush'n™ is also available in 40 pound clear plastic bags.
Colored Mulch
Depending on weather conditions, Ground Cush'n™ Premium Rubber colored mulch may require two days to sufficiently dry and cure following installation.
Tools
Ground Cush'n™ Premium Rubber Surfacing may be spread on play area manually, with rake or shovel, or by machine for larger playgrounds. Installer must exercise care not to disturb the geo-textile filter fabric while spreading. A final hand-raking provides a smooth finished playground surface. |

U.S. Rubber Reclaiming guarantees the impact performance of Ground Cush'n™ Premium Rubber Surfacing and Mulch for fifty years and provides an eight-year warranty against total color loss.
